Day Two, Peko, Mabel and Dipper.

[After the trial, despite the good news that Legion was innocent, everything else was kind of awful. Seeing Levi hung like that, knowing he was innocent, being one less person...

And what was weighing the most on her mind was that they couldn't figure out who killed Kuzuryuu. So she took Dipper and went to go see his grave. She wanted to meet with Peko too, but she didn't catch her before the woman left...

As fortune would have it though, it seems she would be able to kill two birds with one stone. Haha. Ha...

So when they get there and spot Peko, Mabel runs up to her, tugging Dipper along after.]

[Peko... doesn't seem all that responsive. She's sitting with her knees drawn up tight against her chest, right next to the little mound that's Kuzuryuu's. When she looks up, it's with a hollow look to her eyes.

She doesn't say anything, but she's listening.]

[Dipper.. doesn't really say much, either. When Mabel grabs him and drags him off, he follows quietly, not really thinking about what was going on at the moment.

When the two reach the graveyard, and meet with Peko, he stands awkwardly next to Mabel, waiting for his sister to speak before saying anything.

There's not really anything for him to say, anyway. They executed someone innocent instead of the people who murdered Kuzuryuu.....]

...h-hey. [Peko looks so sad...maybe she shouldn't bother her, but she feels bad. So instead of leaving, she sits down beside the woman, tugging on Dipper's hand to make him sit too.]

Um...I'm sorry we couldn't help more...I thought we really had something! But...I guess not. I guess there are too many people right now to really be able to guess who's doing what...

[perfectstrike]

It is no excuse.

[Her voice is hard when she finally speaks, her fingers squeezing hard into her crossed forearms as she stares at the two kids. She's not even crying (right now). She looks coldly furious.]

In other circumstances, failure such as this would have killed us all. I did not act well enough. You have my apologies.

[That's... Peko, what the hell. Calm down. You're sounding a little robotic right now. You're going to scare the kids.]

... [Yeah okay she might be scaring Dipper a little, at least. But he understands her behavior.. since Kuzuryuu was important to her, and they all failed.. even though they promised to avenge his death.

He still doesn't say anything, though. He just keeps his gaze away from the other two, pulling the brim of his cap down a bit.]

[Yeah...Dipper's not the only one a little scared right now...]

...it's not your fault either...there wasn't enough evidence. I'm still sorry though. You're right, there isn't really any excuses...

[This was awful. She felt awful. She felt bad for Peko too...]

There must have been. I just did not read it correctly.

[She shakes her head again, roughly, her braids whipping across her face. But these two are kids, even she realizes it. So she's trying, she's really trying to contain herself. Not put on a happy face -- that would be even more terrifying -- but at least keep from edging close to something that might be called despair.]

I will find who did this. Have no fear of that.

[Y...eah... you go Peko.]

...there were two bullet holes and his face was smashed in. That's all the evidence we had and every theory we had couldn't be proven right or wrong. [Still not looking at the two]


...and we got someone innocent killed today. I didn't even vote for him...

...Dipper, that wasn't our fault. Levi was the one who said all of that...if he hadn't said anything, I'm sure they would have killed Legion instead...

[FROWNING. THIS IS SAD. YOU GUYS ARE SAD.]

Maybe we were just looking at the evidence wrong...maybe if we'd just looked at it from a different angle...
